## Synopsis

The Beatles: Get Back (2021) is a New Zealand and British music documentary miniseries created by Peter Jackson for Disney+. Assembled from more than 60 hours of footage shot in 1969 and never before seen, the three-part docuseries follows John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they rehearse, argue, joke and write songs in a London studio while preparing new material. The engine of the series is the slow, sometimes tense process of turning fragments and jam sessions into finished songs under a looming deadline. Each episode unfolds like a fly-on-the-wall record of a creative working day, with producer George Martin, Yoko Ono and engineers drifting in and out of the room. Shot in a single running archive style, it lets relaxed camaraderie, playful humor and quiet frustration sit side by side. Its tone is warm, intimate and nostalgic, with the closing rooftop performance providing an electric finale in a three-episode, roughly eight-hour run. Fans of Beatles Anthology, Montage of Heck and Festival Express will find resonance in its raw access to legendary musicians at work.
