## Synopsis

Surviving Summer (2022-2023) is an Australian teen drama series created by Josh Mapleston and Joanna Werner for Netflix. Rebellious Brooklyn teen Summer Torres (Sky Katz) is sent to live with family friends in Shorehaven, a tiny town on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Her resistance to the new life gives way as she bonds with local surfers, including Ari Gibson (Kai Lewins), Poppy Tetanui (Lilliana Bowrey) and Bodhi Mercer (Savannah La Rain). Each episode is built from everyday coastal life: waves, school, friendships tested by jealousy, and the slow pull of a town that accepts her. The show runs over two seasons and eighteen episodes, following one continuing thread about Summer finding her place. Its tone is breezy, sun-warm and hopeful, with a light escapist mood and a focus on friendship and belonging. Fans of Heartbreak High, Blue Water High and Home and Away will find similar resonance in its young cast and seaside setting.
