## Synopsis

Parallel World Pharmacy (2022) is a Japanese isekai animated comedy series produced by diomedéa and aired on AT-X. When pharmacologist Kanji Yakutani dies, his soul lands in the body of a boy apprentice in a medieval world five hundred years behind modern Japan. Armed with his modern medical knowledge and newly awakened supernatural powers, he takes on the quack medicine peddlers who swindle ordinary people. The series is built around his determination to reform a broken healthcare system, with each episode placing his scientific rigor against superstition, fraud and stubborn tradition. Voice performances from Aki Toyosaki as Falma de Médicis and Reina Ueda as Eléonore Bonnefoi give the court and apothecary scenes their bright energy. Its tone is light and good-humored, with a warm, earnest heart beneath the satire. Fans of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will find the same reincarnation comedy here, though this show is more focused on everyday problem solving than on sweeping adventure. The single season runs twelve episodes and rewards viewers who enjoy clever, low-stakes anime with a grounded idea at its core.
