## Synopsis

Pivoting (2022) is a American single-season comedy series created by Liz Astrof for FOX. Set in a small middle-class town on Long Island, New York, it follows three women who have been childhood friends since growing up together, now coping with the death of the fourth member of their group. Ginnifer Goodwin plays Jodie, Eliza Coupe plays Amy, and Maggie Q plays Sarah, with Tommy Dewey as Henry and JT Neal as Matt filling out the supporting circle. The engine of the show is simple and reckless: faced with the reality that life is short, these women abandon their routines and chase impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions in pursuit of happiness. Each episode of this ten-episode run plays out as a sequence of personal missteps, romantic detours and blunt confrontations among friends who refuse to let one another off the hook. The tone is breezy and irreverent, warm underneath its bad judgment, with grief surfacing in quieter moments between the jokes. Fans of Girls, Insecure and Better Things will find resonance in its frank female friendships, adult self-sabotage and comedy that treats midlife upheaval with affection rather than solemnity.
