## Synopsis

My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex (2022) is a Japanese anime romantic comedy series produced by project No.9 and ABC Animation and broadcast on AT-X, running twelve episodes. Mizuto Irido starts high school hoping to leave behind a painful middle school romance, only to find his former girlfriend Yume Irido living in his house and sitting in his classroom after their parents marry. Each episode is built from the small daily friction of a household and a school where both leads insist they are the older sibling and refuse to yield ground. Classmates such as Akatsuki Minami and Kogure Kawanami add complications to the teasing and pretend affection they must maintain for their parents. The tone is light, breezy and comedic, with a wistful undertow about old feelings that never fully faded. Its short run makes it an easy single sitting for slice of life fans. Viewers who enjoy Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Toradora! and Oregairu will find the same blend of awkward romance and sharp banter in a school setting.
