## Synopsis

Echoes (2022) is an Australian-American psychological thriller miniseries created by Vanessa Gazy for Netflix. Michelle Monaghan plays identical twins Leni and Gina, who have secretly switched places for years, so that each sister lives inside the other's life. When one of them disappears, the carefully balanced arrangement starts to crack, and the people around them, including Matt Bomer as Jack Beck, Karen Robinson as Louise Floss and Michael O'Neill as Victor McCleary, are pulled into the fallout. The engine of the story is the gap between appearance and reality: what each woman has concealed, what her partner and family do not know, and how a single absence forces buried lies into the open. The series unfolds as one continuous seven-episode story of roughly 45 minutes each, built on flashbacks that revisit the sisters' history and reveal where their differences lie. Its tone is hushed, uneasy and quietly paranoid, with a domestic, suburban atmosphere where the danger comes from within a family rather than from outside it. Fans of The Patient, Big Little Lies and The Killing will find resonance in its mix of secrecy, grief and a missing-person mystery that slowly tightens.
