## Synopsis

Sunset (2021-2022) is a Portuguese parody telenovela comedy series created by Henrique Cardoso Dias, Rui Melo and Manuel Pureza for RTP1. Its engine is the melodrama of the Bourbon de Linhaça family, who own the Pôr do Sol estate but whose wealth hides rivalries, romances and buried secrets. Filipa Martins, played by Gabriela Barros, moves through several identities that tangle the household, while Lourenço Paulino (Diogo Amaral) and Eduardo Bourbon de Linhaça (Marco Delgado) drive the romantic and inheritance intrigue. Madalena Bourbon de Linhaça (Sofia Sá da Bandeira) and Simão Bourbon de Linhaça (Rui Melo) add family pressure and scheming. Across two seasons and thirty-six half-hour episodes, the show stays with the estate's escalating scandals, each episode built from a new reveal, betrayal or misunderstanding. The tone is breezy and knowing, a comic send-up of telenovela conventions that rewards viewers who recognise the genre's stock devices. Fans of Dallas, Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies will find its mix of camp drama and wry self-awareness familiar.
