## Synopsis

Ganglands (2021-2023) is a French crime thriller series created by Julien Leclercq and Hamid Hlioua for Netflix. Sami Bouajila plays Mehdi, a seasoned bank robber who has spent years working the heists of the Paris underworld, and Tracy Gotoas plays Liana, a sharp, ambitious apprentice thief whose skills are still rough around the edges. When a violent turf war erupts between rival drug dealers, the two are pulled into a dangerous alliance they never wanted, because the lives of people they love are on the line. Samuel Jouy and Salim Kechiouche appear among the principal players in a crowded web of dealers, crews and loyalties. Across two seasons of twelve episodes, the series tracks shifting alliances, armed robberies and tense negotiations with ruthless gangsters, with each episode built around a new score, betrayal or confrontation rather than a single case. The tone is taut and propulsive, with gritty urban texture, moral compromise and the constant pressure of family stakes. Fans of Lupin, Narcos and Braquo will find resonance in its blend of heist tension, criminal milieu and street-level realism. Its tight, escalating storytelling makes it a strong choice for viewers who want French crime fiction with real grit.
