## Synopsis

One Ordinary Day (2021) is a South Korean crime drama miniseries created by Kwon Soon-gyu and released on Coupang Play. Kim Soo-hyun plays Kim Hyun-soo, a college student who gives a young woman a ride to the beach in his father's taxi and wakes beside her body, and Cha Seung-won plays Shin Joong-han, a figure whose presence shapes the investigation around him. The engine of the show is simple and grinding: an ordinary young man is swept into a murder case he never asked for, and every episode tightens the net around him as he tries to clear his name and understand what happened. The eight-episode limited series builds its mystery through interrogations, shifting alliances, and the slow reveal of how a corrupt system protects its own. Set in present-day South Korea, the story unfolds in gritty city streets and official offices, with a tense, melancholic, and paranoid atmosphere. Its focus on institutional injustice and the vulnerability of the powerless gives it a sober, emotionally heavy register. Fans of Stranger, Memories of Murder, and Mystic River will find resonance in its procedural tension and moral unease.
