## Synopsis

See No Evil: The Moors Murders (2006) is a British two-part true crime miniseries created for ITV1 and produced by Granada Television. Directed by Christopher Menaul, it dramatizes the 1960s Moors Murders committed by Myra Hindley (Maxine Peake) and Ian Brady (Sean Harris). Rather than centering the killers, the story follows Hindley's sister Maureen Smith (Joanne Froggatt) and her husband Dave Smith (Matthew McNulty), whose domestic life is slowly unsettled by what they begin to suspect and then uncover. Alongside them, police figures such as DCI Joe Mounsey (George Costigan) work the case through the grey streets and moorland of northern England, building a painstaking investigation around missing children and mounting dread. The engine of the drama is the gradual collapse of ordinary trust, as family loyalty, fear and the search for truth pull against one another. Each installment unfolds with restrained, deliberate pacing rather than sensational spectacle. The tone is somber, harrowing and unsettling, closer to the psychological weight of The Fall or the British procedural seriousness of Cracker. Fans of grounded true crime and British kitchen sink realism will find it a sober, emotionally heavy watch that treats its real victims with care.
