## Synopsis

Dinosaur Planet (2003) is an American nature documentary miniseries broadcast on Discovery, presented across four episodes of roughly 48 minutes each. Scott Sampson hosts the program, and Christian Slater provides the narration, guiding viewers through a world of dinosaurs roaming various regions of the earth about 80 million years ago. Rather than a plot, the engine of the series is curiosity: each episode assembles computer-generated reconstructions of creatures in their habitats, explaining how they moved, fed, and lived alongside other species of the late Mesozoic. The mood is awestruck and educational, with a calm, expository narrative pace that favors wonder over drama. The approach follows the lineage of Walking with Dinosaurs and other televised natural history programs, making it a fitting pick for families and anyone who wants a hushed, informative trip into deep time. The series runs as a single self-contained miniseries, so viewers can dip into any part without losing the thread, and its appeal rests on the vivid imagery and the sense of stepping back into a lost planet.
