## Synopsis

Dexter: New Blood (2021-2022) is a American premium cable crime drama miniseries created by Clyde Phillips for Showtime. Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan, a former blood spatter analyst and vigilante killer who has built a quiet new life under an assumed name in the snowbound small town of Iron Lake, New York. Jack Alcott plays his son Harrison, and Julia Jones plays Angela Bishop, a neighbor whose close-knit community is shaken by unexpected events. Jennifer Carpenter returns as Debra Morgan. Dexter's engine is a struggle to keep his dark urges contained while protecting the family he has finally built, and each of the ten hour-long episodes pairs a tense investigation with the pull of his Dark Passenger. The story unfolds as a single continuing arc rather than a case of the week, giving the miniseries a focused, self-contained shape. Set in a cold, isolated upstate landscape of log cabins and frozen lakes, the series carries a brooding, morally uneasy atmosphere, with melancholy and tension running beneath its crime plot. Fans of Dexter, Breaking Bad and Hannibal will find resonance in its blend of dark interiority, serial killer menace and a protagonist whose charm and guilt pull against each other.
