## Synopsis

La fea más bella (2006-2007) is a Mexican telenovela created by Rosy Ocampo and Eduardo Meza for Las Estrellas, a single-season run of around 300 episodes. Angélica Vale plays Leticia Padilla Solís, known as Leti, a brilliant economics graduate and computer expert whose plainness keeps her from finding work. She takes a secretarial post at Conceptos, a video production company where looks are everything, and her quiet competence draws the attention of Jaime Camil as Fernando Mendiola, a member of the family that runs the firm. Elizabeth Álvarez plays Marcia Villarroel, one of the orphaned heirs who share the company, adding rivalry and family tension to the office world. Carlos Bracho plays Don Humberto Mendiola, whose paternal authority anchors the company's history. The engine of the show is simple: Leti wants respect for her mind, while vanity, class prejudice and jealous schemes stand in her way. Each episode layers workplace comedy, romantic misunderstandings and melodramatic reversals across a long daily run. Set in contemporary Mexico, the series wraps its story in bright studio sets and lush romantic cliches. Its tone is sincere, warm and heightened, with a gentle comic streak. Fans of Ugly Betty and the original Betty la Fea will find resonance in its plain-heroine romance and office intrigue.
