## Synopsis

Farzi (2023) is an Indian Hindi-language crime thriller series created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. and produced by D2R Films for Prime Video. Shahid Kapoor plays Sunny, a brilliant small-time artist whose talent for drawing draws him into the world of counterfeiting when he creates a near-perfect fake currency note. Opposite him, Vijay Sethupathi plays Michael Vedanayagam, a fiery and unorthodox task force officer determined to rid the country of the counterfeiting menace. Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna and Bhuvan Arora round out the principal cast as figures tied to the criminal and police worlds around them. The engine of the series is a tense cat-and-mouse race, with Sunny's forgeries growing more ambitious as Michael closes in, and every episode builds on stakeouts, printing operations, and shifting alliances. Spanning a single eight-episode season, it is a tightly plotted limited run in the tradition of Indian crime thrillers. Set in contemporary India, it foregrounds an intense, suspenseful atmosphere where every move carries risk. Fans of Money Heist, Narcos and Sacred Games will find resonance in its blend of criminal ingenuity, gritty tension and relentless pursuit.
