## Synopsis

Bad and Crazy (2021-2022) is a South Korean superhero crime drama created by Kim Sae-bom for tvN. Lee Dong-wook plays Ryu Soo-yeol, a materialistic police detective whose comfortable, self-serving life is upended when a hidden persona called K, played by Wi Ha-jun, awakens inside him. Together the two personalities must navigate a police force riddled with corruption, while supporting figures such as Han Ji-eun's Lee Hee-gyeom and Cha Hak-yeon's Oh Kyung-tae pull him into investigations of injustice. The engine of the show is the tension between an ordinary man's ambition and the vigilante impulse that forces him to confront the rot around him. Across a single season of twelve long episodes, the series shifts between procedural case work and superhero-style confrontations. Its register is brisk, sardonic and intense, with a darkly comic edge and a crime thriller's grit. Viewers who enjoy gritty Korean crime dramas and character-driven vigilante stories will find it a comparable pleasure to the Korean police series in the vein of Stranger, though it leans more heavily on its superhero hook.
