## Synopsis

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest (1996-1997) is an American animated action-adventure series created by Doug Wildey and produced by Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, airing on TNT, Cartoon Network and TBS. Its two seasons total fifty-two episodes of roughly twenty-two minutes each. Young Jonny Quest, voiced by J.D. Roth and later Quinton Flynn, travels with his scientist father Dr. Benton Quest (George Segal, later John de Lancie) and the family's bodyguard Race Bannon (Robert Patrick, later Robert Foxworth), joined by the young Hadji Singh (Michael Benyaer, later Rob Paulsen) and Jessie Bannon (Jesse Douglas). The engine of each episode is a new expedition in which the group pursues strange, unexplained phenomena and confronts villains, monsters, and hazardous terrain. Each adventure is self-contained, with a brisk pace and a clear sense of wonder. The mood is pulp-inflected, earnest and playful, with a warm family bond at its center. Set in a contemporary-leaning world of exotic locations and science mysteries, it suits fans of the original 1964 Jonny Quest and similar animated adventures such as Dexter's Laboratory and Teen Titans. It is a light, family-friendly action series.
