## Synopsis

A Tale Dark & Grimm (2021) is a American animated fantasy comedy miniseries created for Netflix, running a single ten-episode season of roughly thirty-minute episodes. Hansel (Andre Robinson) and Gretel (Raini Rodriguez) step out of their own storybook and wander into a winding, deliberately mischievous retelling of the classic fairy tale, where the siblings must navigate a kingdom of castles, forests and sword-and-sorcery peril. Voice work from Tom Hollander as Mr. Bauer, Cari Kabinoff as Mrs. Bauer, Scott Adsit as William, and Adam Lambert as The Devil shapes a cast of colorful, quarrelsome characters who keep the plot tumbling forward. Each episode is a self-contained caper built around a new surprise, so the story moves briskly and rarely settles into a single rhythm. Rendered in 3D animation, the series balances breezy, playful humor with a streak of genuinely strange and scary moments that never overwhelm its young audience. Its tone is cheeky, imaginative and cozy, with a fairy tale sense of wonder. Fans of Shrek, Over the Garden Wall and Gravity Falls will find a similar mix of irreverent fairy tale play and gentle family charm.
