## Synopsis

Pretty Smart (2021) is a American streaming comedy sitcom created by Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand for Netflix. Its single season of ten roughly 23-minute episodes follows Chelsea (Emily Osment), a self-proclaimed intellectual and lawyer who, after a setback, is forced to move in with her carefree sister Claire (Olivia Macklin). The engine of the show is the friction between Chelsea's rigid ambition and the easygoing chaos of a household built around Claire and her lovably eccentric friends, including Grant (Gregg Sulkin), Solana (Cinthya Carmona) and Jayden (Michael Rosen). Each episode is built from small domestic collisions, romantic missteps and social media-fueled misunderstandings that test Chelsea's self-image. The series plays as a breezy, sardonic sitcom with a light, comforting tone, sitting closer to contemporary American young adult comedy than to anything dramatic. Its setting is a present-day American city, rendered in a modern millennial milieu. Fans of New Girl and 2 Broke Girls will find resonance in its roommate dynamics and quirky friend-group humor. The show was canceled after one season, and it remains a short, easy watch for viewers who enjoy odd-couple living arrangements.
