## Synopsis

Twisted Metal (2023-present) is an American action comedy series created by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Michael Jonathan Smith for Peacock, adapted from the video game of the same name. Anthony Mackie plays John Doe, a motor-mouthed outsider with no memory of his past who is offered a better life if he can deliver a mysterious package across a ruined American wasteland. He is paired with Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, a axe-wielding car thief whose blunt pragmatism keeps him alive, and the story gathers further principal figures including Thomas Haden Church as Agent Stone and Anthony Carrigan as Calypso. Each episode is built around savage marauders in armored vehicles, roadside skirmishes and the constant threat of a deranged clown behind the wheel of an ice cream truck. The engine of the show is a rough road trip with a deadline, where every stop brings a new fight and a new reason to doubt the job. Gore and vehicular destruction are played with a jokey, irreverent sensibility that keeps the mood breezy even as bodies pile up. Fans of Mad Max: Fury Road and Deadpool will find resonance in its blend of brutal set pieces and sharp, self-aware humor. The series is currently ongoing across two seasons and twenty-two episodes, a wild, loud ride for viewers who like their carnage with a wink.
