## Synopsis

Spain's Elite Force: Beyond Limits (2021) is a Spanish documentary miniseries created by Jorge Pérez Vega, José Ignacio Corrales and David Miralles for Prime Video. Its eight episodes of roughly fifty minutes each follow the selection course for the Special Group of Operations, the G.E.O. unit of the Spanish Police. A camera crew has been granted exclusive access to the process, which runs for more than seven months, and the engine of the series is simple and punishing: dozens of officers begin, and only a few will finish. Viewers watch candidates push through physical and mental trials while the institution judges who has what it takes. The tone is sober and observational, with a tense, quiet suspense that builds as the group thins out and each elimination lands. Because it documents a real institution rather than a scripted fiction, the series offers a rare look at how an elite police force chooses its own members. Fans of Basic, Special Forces: Hell Week and Cops will find a similar appetite for real institutional rigor, grit and unvarnished access. The series is a single-season limited run of eight episodes, and it is best suited to viewers who like unscripted looks at demanding training.
