## Synopsis

Survivors (2021-2024) is a Russian scripted drama series created by Alexandr Lungin, Roman Volobuev and Elena Vanina for Okko. Set in a small Russian town where a deadly virus has killed most of the population, it follows a small group of survivors, including Morozov (Aleksey Filimonov), Nastya (Darya Savelyeva), Olga (Valentina Lukashchuk) and Schadrin (Artur Smolyaninov), who are afflicted by a sleeping sickness: they cannot wake on their own, and after about two hours of sleep they slip into a coma. Their struggle is to stay awake, keep one another alive and find out what the illness truly is while the town around them empties and the outside world grows distant. The series is a serialized, continuing story rather than a case of the week, with each episode built from scavenging, uneasy alliances, mounting physical exhaustion and the fear of drifting off. Across two seasons and seventeen episodes, the narrative keeps its focus on the immediate and the intimate. Its tone is bleak and claustrophobic, with a gritty, grounded texture and a steady undercurrent of dread and quiet solidarity. Fans of The Last of Us, Contagion and other pandemic survival dramas will find resonance in its portrait of ordinary people holding on in an emptied world.
