## Synopsis

Taskaree: The Smuggler's Web (2026) is a Hindi-language Indian crime thriller limited series created by Neeraj Pandey and released on Netflix. Emraan Hashmi plays Arjun Meena, a dedicated customs officer who leads his team against Bada Choudhary (Sharad Kelkar), a notorious smuggler commanding a powerful syndicate. Alongside them, Anurag Sinha as Prakash Kumar and Amruta Khanvilkar as Mitali Kamath help drive the investigation. The engine of the story is the officer's relentless pursuit of a criminal network whose reach extends into unexpected places, so every episode turns on fresh obstacles that threaten the mission and push the team to adapt. Across seven roughly forty-three-minute episodes, the series builds a single continuing operation rather than a case of the week, moving from surveillance and stakeouts to confrontations that test loyalty and nerve. Its tone is tense and grounded, with a procedural focus on paperwork, pursuit, and the pressure of institutional bureaucracy. Set in present-day India, the story unfolds in urban and border-adjacent locales where contraband moves through hidden channels. Fans of Sacred Games, Paatal Lok and Narcos will find resonance in its layered criminal ecosystem and its mix of official duty and personal risk.
