## Synopsis

KAMUI: He's Behind You (2026) is a Japanese animated supernatural comedy series broadcast on TOKYO MX, a single-season run of twelve short episodes of about twelve minutes each. Shizuka Mimizuka (voiced by Riko Aono) is an ordinary high school girl who can see ghosts and, because she tends to attract them, ends up working as an assistant to Kamui (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), a famous psychic who prides himself on his top-tier abilities. The engine of the show is the mismatch between Kamui's confident reputation and the unusual, often absurd way he dispatches the spirits that gather around Shizuka. Each episode is a brisk, self-contained run of ghost encounters and exorcism gags, supported by a supporting cast that includes Oichi (Mao Ichimichi), Kyoko (Yuuka Aisaka) and Inagawa (Shiori Izawa). The tone is breezy and light, with a playful, gently irreverent sense of humor that treats the spirit world with affectionate absurdity rather than dread. Its setting is a contemporary Japan where the supernatural sits quietly beside everyday school life. Fans of Mob Psycho 100 and Noragami will find resonance in its blend of comic exorcism, offbeat spirit-hunting partnerships and youthful supernatural mischief.
