## Synopsis

Captive (2026) is an Argentine dramatic miniseries created by Paula Hernández and Jazmín Stuart for TNT Latin America, produced with FLOW and Aleph. Across six roughly 39-minute episodes, Carolina Kopelioff plays Clara Barbosa, a woman who becomes Hermana María Teresa de la Eucaristía, a nun held for fifteen years inside a cloistered convent where she endured psychological abuse. The engine of the story is her attempt to break free and to reckon with the family and the world that continue without her. Lorena Vega plays Priora Cecilia, the convent's prioress, whose authority presses on every move Clara makes, while Rita Cortese plays Madre Aurora and Julieta Zylberberg plays Martina Robles, figures tied to Clara's outside life. Each episode weighs the claustrophobic institutional pressure inside the walls against the disorienting freedom outside, building a dread-tinged, intimate account of survival and identity. The structure moves between the present escape and the past that shaped it, giving the miniseries a serialized, character-driven shape told in one complete run. Tone is tense, sombre and emotionally raw, closer in register to a Latin American prestige drama than to a conventional procedural. Fans of The Magdalene Sisters and The Handmaid's Tale will find resonance in its portrait of women reclaiming selfhood from coercive institutions.
