## Synopsis

Route 187 (2026) is an American crime drama miniseries created by Mark E. Swinton for Paramount+, produced by Tyler Perry Studios. Across four episodes of roughly thirty-one minutes each, the story follows Lt. Jeff Gibson (Clark Moore) and Detective Finley (Cuyle Carvin) as the outrage spreading through a struggling city after a bus driver and a student are murdered by thugs pushes them toward a hunt for the culprits, whose faces were captured on video. Coach Lowe (Rico Ball) and Mason James (Christopher Livingstone) anchor the community side of the story, while Thugger (Bibby Bankz) and Tory Martin (Nicky Buggs) represent the street world that the manhunt drags into the open. Each episode is built from raw street encounters, retaliation, and the grinding pressure of a neighborhood already worn down by poverty and scarcity. The tone is harsh, bleak, and confrontational, with a sense of community grief and anger that never fully lets up. Viewers of gritty urban procedurals and street-level crime dramas will find it close in spirit to The Wire and Top Boy. Its approach to violence is blunt and unsparing, so it suits adult viewers who want an unflinching look at an American city under strain.
