## Synopsis

You're Killing Me (2026-present) is a Canadian crime mystery series created by Robin Bernheim Burger and broadcast on Acorn TV. Bestselling novelist Allie, played by Brooke Shields, teams up with aspiring writer and podcaster Andi, played by Amalia Williamson, in a quaint New England town after the death of a close friend. Their unlikely partnership drives an investigation that pulls them through the town's tight social circles and its quiet secrets, while Tom Cavanagh plays Jack, a figure whose connections keep the mystery tangled. The engine of the show is the pair's stubborn curiosity, with each episode of this six-episode first season spent chasing a new lead, interviewing neighbors, and testing theories against the story Andi is recording for her podcast. Set in a present-day small town, the series keeps its atmosphere warm and witty, with a cozy, breezy register that softens the central loss. Fans of Murder, She Wrote, Only Murders in the Building and Gilmore Girls will find resonance in its chatty amateur detectives, its small community texture, and its blend of humor and grief. Its tone stays gentle, amusing and curious rather than grim, making it an easy, engaging pick for viewers who enjoy a murder puzzle with heart.
