## Synopsis

Sicily Express (2025) is an Italian comedy series created by Salvatore Ficarra and Valentino Picone for Netflix. Ficarra plays Salvo and Picone plays Valentino, two blundering Sicilian friends who have drifted north to work in Milan. With Christmas approaching, their homesickness takes a magical turn when they discover a dumpster that transports them to their families in seconds. Each of the five short episodes is built around the comic mishaps that follow, as the pair bounce between the chilly northern city and the warm, boisterous households they left behind. Katia Follesa appears as Claudia, and Barbara Tabita as Maria Teresa, adding further family and romantic entanglements to the chaos. Supporting turns from Max Tortora as a prime minister, Jerry Calà as an interior minister and Sergio Vastano as a director bring a satirical edge to the politics of the capital. The show is a light, warm holiday comedy with a sincere heart about home, friendship and the pull of family, delivered with the broad physical humor and regional wit of Sicilian comedy. Fans of Benvenuti al Sud and the gentle absurdity of Groundhog Day will find resonance here.
