## Synopsis

Absolute Value of Romance (2026) is a South Korean romantic comedy series created by Lee Min-joo for Coupang Play. Yeo Eui-ju, a high school girl played by Kim Hyang-gi, secretly writes web novels late at night, and her daily school life becomes fodder for her stories once four charming new teachers arrive. Cha Hak-yeon, Kim Jae-hyun and DEMIAN play some of the teachers whose presence stirs up her classroom and her imagination, and the engine of each episode is the tug between her private creative world and the crushes, rivalries and awkward moments she lives out in the hallways. Told as a single sixteen-episode season of roughly forty minutes each, the series moves briskly through school-day comedy and flustered romantic tension rather than a sprawling arc. The tone is breezy, sweet and youthful, with a wistful undercurrent about first feelings and the stories people tell themselves. Set in a contemporary South Korean high school, it is a light, dreamy watch for viewers who enjoy a romcom with a teacher-student romantic angle. Fans of Itaewon Class, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Sweet Magic will find a similar blend of Korean romance warmth and school-set charm.
