## Synopsis

The Daily Life of a Part-time Torturer (2026) is a Japanese animated dark comedy series created for TOKYO MX, a single-season anime of twelve 24-minute episodes produced by diomedéa. In a society where torture is legal and big business, the series follows part-timers Cero (Shunichi Toki), Shiu (Takuma Terashima), Mike (Takuma Nagatsuka) and Hugh (Yohei Azakami) as they work at the firm Spirytus. Their days are built from client sessions, office shenanigans and the occasional in-house assassin, all handled with a cheerful, team-oriented professionalism. Hela (Kisho Taniyama) and Noe (Rikuya Yasuda) round out the staff. The engine is the gap between grim subject matter and ordinary workplace routine, so each episode plays like a shift at a job no one would want. Set in a contemporary-style corporate world, the show is sardonic, breezy and irreverent, with absurd comedy landing against bloody material. Fans of Gintama, Corporate and Hazbin Hotel will find resonance in its deadpan workplace absurdity and stylized violence. Its tone stays playful even when the work is brutal, making it a strange, cheerful watch for viewers who like their comedy dark.
