## Synopsis

The Terror: Devil in Silver (2026) is an American horror miniseries created by Victor LaValle for Shudder and AMC+. Wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital, a man named Pepper, played by Dan Stevens, finds himself among secretive doctors and dangerous patients, with Judith Light as Dorry and John Benjamin Hickey as Dr. Walter adding unsettling pressure around him. The engine of the story is his struggle to prove he belongs outside the walls while the institution keeps its own dark routines, and each episode tightens the grip of dread. The six-episode run is a single continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format. The setting is an unsettling mid-century American asylum, rendered with claustrophobic corridors and quiet menace. The tone is eerie, oppressive and paranoid, with a steady undercurrent of the supernatural pressing against a grounded institutional nightmare. Fans of Shutter Island and American Horror Story: Asylum will find resonance in its blend of psychological unease and gothic atmosphere.
