## Synopsis

The Husband (2026) is a South Korean crime thriller limited series created for KBS2 that blends marital drama with suspense. Taeju, a hospital director played by Namkoong Min, and his estranged wife Seyun, played by Lee Seol, are on the verge of divorce when a drunken comment from him leads to her kidnapping. Suddenly he becomes the prime suspect in the case, and he is forced to go on the run. The engine of the series is his desperate attempt to rescue her on his own while evading the police and uncovering who is behind the abduction. Each episode of this single twelve-episode season pushes him closer to his physical and emotional limits, and the story moves with brisk momentum through its hour-long chapters. The show is set in contemporary South Korea, mostly in urban Seoul and the surrounding landscape where the chase unfolds. Its tone mixes tense, propulsive suspense with melancholy reflection on a broken marriage and the question of whether love can survive guilt and secrets. Viewers who enjoy a tense marriage thriller, a wrongly accused protagonist, or the emotional intensity of a Korean melodrama will find it compelling, in the vein of The Good Wife and Taken.
