## Synopsis

Kraken: The Black Book of Hours (2026) is a Spanish crime miniseries created by Manuel Sanabria for Prime Video, adapted from Eva García Sáenz de Urturi's bestselling novel The Black Book of Hours. Unai, nicknamed Kraken (Alejo Sauras), receives a chilling phone call ordering him to track down a rare, valuable book, with a threat that his mother will be killed if he fails. The unsettling catch is that his mother has been dead for decades, so the demand makes no sense and the clock runs regardless. Working alongside his inseparable partner Esti (Maggie Civantos), he pursues a tangled investigation that moves through archives, old secrets and shifting suspects, with Natalia Rodríguez as Mencía among the other principal figures. The six-episode run, around 48 minutes each, is a single continuing case rather than a procedural of standalone outings. The tone blends suspense, brisk action and personal emotion, with a grounded, contemporary Spanish setting. Fans of The Head, Hache and The Da Vinci Code will find resonance in its puzzle-driven pursuit of a rare manuscript and the lingering pull of a family wound.
