## Synopsis

Badly in Love (2025-present) is a Japanese reality dating series created by MEGUMI for Netflix. Billed as Japan's first dating show for rebellious yankiis, it follows eleven singles who butt heads, form unlikely bonds, and live together for fourteen days as they go all out to find the one. MEGUMI appears as emcee alongside AK-69, Nagano, Awich and Takahiro Moriuchi, whose hosting presence frames the house dynamics and the confrontations that erupt between cast members. The engine is simple and addictive: strong personalities collide under one roof, romantic hopes collide with pride, and every episode builds toward who will connect and who will walk away. Each season is a set of confined days where tempers flare, alliances shift and small gestures of sincerity surprise both viewers and the cast. The tone mixes brash humor, bristling tension and warm payoff, with the rough edges of a streetwise subculture softening into genuine affection. Shaped as an ongoing unscripted franchise, it spans two seasons and thirty episodes so far. Fans of Love Island, Terrace House and Too Hot to Handle will find the same mix of cohabitation drama, dating-show scheming and heartfelt surprise here, filtered through a distinctly Japanese yankii sensibility.
