## Synopsis

Mob War: Philadelphia vs. the Mafia (2025) is a American true crime docuseries created for Netflix. Across three 45-minute episodes, it revisits the bloody 1990s struggle between two warring mob factions fighting for control of Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. Rather than dramatizing events, the series builds its engine from testimony, as former mobster John Alite appears as himself to recount the rivalry, the betrayals and the killings that defined the period. Each episode moves through the escalating conflict, following who held power, who was pushed aside, and how the violence spread through the city's streets and social clubs. The result is a single continuing narrative in limited-series form, with a stark, unsentimental register that keeps the focus on consequences rather than glamour. Its tone is grim, tense and documentary-plain, appealing to viewers who enjoy gangster stories grounded in real lives. Fans of The Sopranos, Mob City and The Making of a Murderer will find resonance in its blend of organized crime, insider perspective and true events, all set against the gritty backdrop of 1990s Pennsylvania.
