## Synopsis

YAGA (2026) is a Canadian scripted mystery drama created by Kat Sandler for Crave. Private investigator protagonist Charlie Rapp (Noah Reid) probes the disappearance of the young heir to a powerful fishery, and his search pulls him into an uneasy partnership and rivalry with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo), and a charismatic university professor, Katherine Hargrove (Carrie-Anne Moss), whose taste for younger men adds another layer of unease. Across eight episodes the engine is a steady accumulation of clues, lies, and private revelations, with each suspect carrying a secret life that complicates the case and nudges the investigation toward something older and stranger than an ordinary missing persons file. Its single season plays as a contained, serialized puzzle in which order matters and every interview reshapes the picture. The story is set in a contemporary coastal Canadian community where the fishery's wealth shapes who speaks and who stays silent. The atmosphere is brooding and unsettling, with a tense, paranoid undercurrent and a folkloric thread of ancient magic running beneath the procedural surface. Fans of Twin Peaks, Mare of Easttown and True Detective will find resonance in its blend of small-town secrecy, character-driven investigation and eerie mythic dread.
