## Synopsis

Museum of Innocence (2026) is a Turkish miniseries created for Netflix, a nine-episode limited series that follows a wealthy Istanbul man, Kemal Basmacı (Selahattin Paşalı), whose forbidden love for a shop-girl, Füsun (Eylül Lize Kandemir), grows into a lifelong journey of obsession and longing. The engine of the story is Kemal's stubborn refusal to let go, as his affair with a younger woman from a lower social rung pulls him away from his engagement, his family expectations and the settled comforts of his class. Each episode lingers on small domestic rituals, shared glances and the objects he gathers to hold onto her presence. Set in 1970s Istanbul, the series captures a city caught between old custom and rapid modern change, with its shops, apartments and nightlife rendered in warm period detail. Supporting roles from Sibel (Oya Unustası) and other principal figures widen the social circle around the lovers. The tone is melancholic, intimate and sincere, with a patient pace that rewards attentive viewing. Fans of In the Mood for Love and Anna Karenina will find resonance in its aching restraint and its portrait of love that outlasts its moment. A complete, self-contained story told across a single season, it suits viewers seeking a quiet, emotionally weighty period romance.
