## Synopsis

Proud is a Polish drama series that aired on HBO Max in 2026 as a single eight-episode season of about forty minutes per episode. Ignacy Liss plays Filip Raczyński, a carefree young man whose easy life collapses after an unexpected family tragedy, forcing him to grow up quickly or lose the little he has left. Alicja Lewczuk as Tosia, Maria Sobocińska as Kiki and Kamil Studnicki as Olek orbit his struggle, while Mateusz Więcławek as Paweł and Maja Ostaszewska as a neighbor add pressure and warmth from outside the immediate circle. The engine of the series is practical and emotional: bills, siblings, friendships and old habits pulling against the demands of sudden responsibility. Each episode moves through domestic situations rather than spectacle, building a portrait of a household rearranging itself around loss. The tone is intimate, sincere and bittersweet, with moments of humor surfacing between heavier scenes. Its treatment of a gay parent and a family defined by care rather than convention gives the drama a distinct emotional center. Viewers who appreciate grounded family dramas in the vein of This Is Us and Please Like Me will find the same mix of tenderness and honest hardship here, delivered in a compact, self-contained run.
