## Synopsis

Believe Me (2026) is a British four-part true crime miniseries created by Jeff Pope for ITV1. Built on the notorious case of John Worboys, it stars Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Sarah Adams, a woman whose experience of being drugged in a London taxi pushes her to fight for justice, opposite Daniel Mays as Worboys himself. Laurie Kynaston, Jordan Bolger and Miriam Petche round out the principal cast as the people navigating the investigation and its aftermath. Each of the four fifty-minute episodes follows the slow, frustrating machinery of police inquiries and legal proceedings, as survivors are doubted and the case must be built one report at a time. The series is a single continuous story, grounded and restrained rather than sensational, set in present-day London and the surrounding justice system. Its tone is sober, angry and emotionally heavy, foregrounding dread, persistence and the struggle to be believed. Fans of Unbelievable and The Staircase will find resonance in its real-case realism and its focus on institutional failure. The story is told with care for the women at its center, and the viewing experience is harrowing but purposeful.
