## Synopsis

Mel Brooks: The 99 Year Old Man! (2026) is an HBO documentary miniseries created by directors Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio that traces the life and legacy of comedy legend Mel Brooks. Brooks himself appears on camera alongside a roster of collaborators and admirers, including Rob Reiner, Jerry Seinfeld, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler and Dana Gould, while his son Nicholas Brooks offers a more personal view of the man behind the gags. The two-episode, roughly two-hour run is built from interviews, reminiscences and warm stories about a career spanning film, television and Broadway, shaped around the idea of a performer who refuses to slow down or act his age. Rather than dissecting its subject, the film celebrates his irreverent wit and creative stamina, so it plays as a funny, affectionate tribute that also moves viewers with its family moments. Its tone is sincere, nostalgic and joyful, with plenty of laughter and a few tender beats. Fans of Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind and Richard Pryor: Live in Concert will find a similar blend of comic celebration and intimate portraiture, and the miniseries suits anyone who loves classic American comedy and Hollywood history.
