## Synopsis

The Backrooms (2022) is a American web horror series created by Kane Parson, presented on the Kane Pixles YouTube channel. Told as a single short episode, it mixes analog video textures with found footage horror, placing viewers inside the eerie, endless interior spaces that made the Backrooms legend a staple of internet creepypasta culture. Its engine is simple and unsettling: a seemingly ordinary setting slowly reveals that something is deeply wrong, and the sense of being lost in a place with no exit drives the dread. The mood is oppressive, uncanny and claustrophobic, with fluorescent emptiness and grainy imagery doing most of the work. Fans of Marble Hornets, Local 58 and The Blair Witch Project will find resonance in its web-native format and creeping atmosphere. The series is brief, a one-episode experiment that feels more like a viral short than a conventional television drama, and its unresolved ending leaves the viewer alone with the unease long after the video stops.
