## Synopsis

Monster (2022) is a United States true crime anthology series created by Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy. Its single season is built as a self-contained dramatization of an individual whose extreme actions shocked society, with each story viewed through the inner life of the person at its center rather than through a single continuing plot. The engine of the series is the question of how an ordinary-seeming person arrives at an act that horrifies the public, and the episodes dig into the family pressures, private rationalizations, and social conditions surrounding that transformation. The tone is unsettling and psychological, with a cool, probing register that keeps the viewer uncomfortable and attentive. Its themes center on the psychology of notoriety, the gap between public image and private motive, and the way media attention shapes how the world sees violent figures. Viewers who enjoy the true crime anthology format, character driven portraits of real criminals, and dark psychological drama will find resonance here, in the vein of American Crime Story and Mindhunter. Because the season is a single compact entry, it works well as a standalone viewing experience for adults who want a focused, serious study rather than a conventional whodunit.
