## Synopsis

Marriage Toxin (2026-present) is a Japanese animated romantic comedy anime series produced by BONES Film and Kansai Television, broadcast across a large network of regional Japanese stations. Elite assassin Hikaru Gero, heir to the Gero family, lives in the underworld of the Five Great Families, but when his sister is pressured to produce an heir he turns to Mei Kinosaki, a brilliant marriage swindler, to find him a bride. Voiced by Haruki Ishiya as Hikaru and Shion Wakayama as Mei, the series builds its engine on the awkward, escalating mission of matching a deadly man with a suitable partner while rival assassins and clan politics close in. Each episode mixes sharp action sequences with flirtatious banter and a parade of candidates, all within a stylized criminal world. The series runs one season of thirteen episodes and is still airing. Its tone is playful and sincere, with a romantic core that sits beside its bloody fights. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Jujutsu Kaisen and Sakamoto Days will find resonance in its blend of comedy, shounen action and romance. Its heightened, stylized take on the assassin's life gives the show a bright, energetic feel.
