## Synopsis

Alice and Steve (2026-present) is a British comedy series created by Sophie Goodhart for Disney+. Nicola Walker plays Alice, a devastated mother who learns that her best friend Steve, played by Jemaine Clement, has started dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy, played by Yali Topol Margalith. Alice is determined to end the relationship and her friendship with Steve, but he is more than ready for the attack, so a perfect friendship spirals into an all-out feud. The engine of the series is a string of escalating schemes and counterstrikes between two people who know each other too well, with Joel Fry as Daniel and Tyrese Eaton-Dyce as Dom adding friction around the edges of the family and friend circle. The show runs for a single season of six half-hour episodes, so its shape is a tight, continuous run of petty warfare rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is sharp, breezy and knowingly awkward, with warmth underneath the bitterness and a theme of affectionate rivalry between middle-aged characters clinging to their old bonds. Set in contemporary Britain, it is an easy watch for anyone who enjoys the dry, bickering humor of Motherland, the candid awkwardness of Fleabag, or the petty rivalries of The Other Two.
