## Synopsis

Firefly Wedding (2026) is a Japanese animated romance drama series broadcast on Fuji TV and adapted from a manga, produced in an anime style. Satoko Kirigaya, a noblewoman in a Meiji-era Japanese household, has everything except time, since her life is running out. She wants to marry well and make her father proud, but when a ruthless assassin kidnaps her she makes a desperate offer that he accepts, a marriage bargain that promises to give them both everything. Shinpei Goto becomes dangerously obsessed, and Satoko must weigh duty against a love that could consume them both. The series runs for a single season of twelve episodes, with each episode moving the central bargain closer to a breaking point through political intrigue, conspiracy, and the pressures of a rigid aristocratic world. Voiced by Lynn as Satoko and Koki Uchiyama as Shinpei, with Kent Ito and Kenjiro Tsuda in supporting roles, the show blends the intimacy of a forbidden romance with the tension of a dangerous power game. Its tone is melancholic and intense, with an undercurrent of mortality that colors every tender moment. Fans of Rurouni Kenshin, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and Bridgerton will find resonance in its period romance, its scheming lovers, and its mix of longing and peril.
