## Synopsis

Seeking Persephone (2026) is a four-episode American period romance miniseries created by Sarah M. Eden and released on Prime Video. Ryann Bailey plays Persephone Lancaster, a young woman who agrees to marry the aloof Duke of Kielder, Adam Boyce, played by Jake Stormoen, to protect her family from financial ruin. Their arrangement begins as a cold bargain inside a remote English castle, where the duke's stern household and the Dowager Duchess shape every interaction. Supporting roles include Toby-Alexander Smith as Harry Windover, Catherine Hannay as Athena Lancaster, and Charlotte Hemmings as the Dowager Duchess. The engine of the story is the slow thaw between two guarded people, with each episode built from quiet confrontations, household intrigue, and the gradual awakening of feeling that neither expected. Set in a pre-Victorian English countryside of the early nineteenth century, the series plays out with the candlelit atmosphere and restrained emotional register of classic period drama. Its tones are wistful, sincere and tender, and its themes center on duty, sacrifice and second chances. Fans of Bridgerton, Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility will find resonance in its blend of social constraint and romantic longing across a brief, self-contained run.
