## Synopsis

Sins of Kujo (2026) is a Japanese crime drama series created for Netflix, based on a manga and adapted for television with a single ten-episode season. Yuya Yagira plays Taiza Kujo, a defense lawyer who wields the law to defend thugs and yakuza, and Hokuto Matsumura plays his fellow lawyer Shinji Karasuma, who doubts his ethics yet joins him in facing the abyss. Elaiza Ikeda plays Hitomi Yakushimae, and Keita Machida plays Kengo Mibu among the supporting cast. The engine of the series is the tension between a lawyer's duty to every client and his private conviction about right and wrong, played out in courtrooms, detention rooms and the murky dealings of organized crime. Episodes unfold as case-driven confrontations that gradually dig into the protagonists' pasts, with flashbacks adding weight to the present-day battles. Set in contemporary Japan, the series has a sober, morally heavy register, combining legal thriller suspense with a brooding atmosphere of ethical unease. Its tone is tense, serious and intellectually probing, with strong themes of justice, guilt and redemption. Viewers who enjoyed Better Call Saul, Suits or Tokyo Vice will find similar resonance in its morally complicated legal world.
