## Synopsis

Bloody Smart (2026) is a Taiwanese scripted mystery drama series created for Netflix, adapted from a manga. Set in a tightly governed town where strict rules shape students into their so-called best selves, the story follows a hidden Bloodfruit Tree that bears crimson fruit. A mysterious boy dressed in black delivers these fruits only to those who truly need them, and once eaten they awaken long-suppressed desires. Cast members Gigi Leung Wing-kei, Buffy Chen, JN Yu, and Liu Hsiu-fu anchor a ten-episode, single-season run that moves at an unhurried pace, letting each episode peel back another layer of private longing beneath public order. The engine is the slow unraveling of ordinary people who are offered what they have been denied, and the cost of that offer as the community tips toward irreversible ruin. The atmosphere is quietly unsettling, with gentle melancholy giving way to dread as the town's composure cracks. Viewers who enjoy the eerie small town unease of Twin Peaks, the rigid school pressure of Battle Royale, and the supernatural temptation of Midnight Mass will find resonance here. Its tone is intimate and unnerving, a slow-burn meditation on repression and the price of wanting too much.
