## Synopsis

Fighting Spirit: Rising (2013-2014) is a Japanese animated sports series created for broadcast and produced by Madhouse. Featherweight champion Ippo defends his title against a line of dangerous challengers, while fellow boxers Takamura and Aoki pursue world titles in the middleweight and lightweight divisions. Each episode is built from the ring itself: training montages, pre-fight rivalries, and tightly choreographed bouts that escalate from round to round. The series keeps a single continuing story across its twenty-five episodes, so each fight raises the stakes for the next. Its tone is earnest and energetic, with comedic beats between the fighters and their trainers and a sincere respect for the discipline of boxing. Presented as a shonen sports anime in the tradition of its franchise, it sits alongside Megalo Box and Haikyu!! for viewers who enjoy underdog sports storytelling, rivalries built on hard work, and the physical drama of championship competition. Its single season offers a self-contained run for fans of boxing and animated sports drama.
