## Synopsis

Reboot (2026) is a Japanese television miniseries created for TBS, a ten-episode crime mystery built as one continuous suspense story. A regular pastry chef, framed for the murder of his wife, becomes the protagonist who must clear his name by manipulating the detective assigned to the case and digging out the truth himself. Ryohei Suzuki plays the central figure, with Erika Toda, Ren Nagase, and Aju Makita among the principal cast. Each episode is built around shifting suspicion, concealed identities, and the constant risk that the chef's careful deception will be exposed, so the pressure tightens steadily rather than resetting week to week. The series unfolds as a tightly plotted serialized thriller where every clue and alibi matters, and the tone stays tense, paranoid, and emotionally charged, with grief and betrayal running beneath the procedural hunt. Its contemporary Japanese setting gives the investigation a grounded, urban texture. Fans of The Fugitive and Broadchurch will find the same wrongful-accusation pressure and the slow tightening of a detective's net, while viewers drawn to Japanese crime thrillers will recognize its patient, character-driven suspense. Its short run makes it an easy one to finish in a few sittings.
