## Synopsis

Hunkkaar: The Roar (2026) is a six-episode Indian crime drama miniseries created by Karan Kapadia and Nitya Mehra and released on JioHotstar. When a teenage girl, Meenu Rawat (Aneet Padda), accuses a revered godman of sexual assault, her accusation sets off a national conflict that pulls her family, the police and the courts into a bitter contest over faith and justice. Fatima Sana Shaikh plays ACP Jasleen Singh Soin, the police officer tasked with building a case against a figure with a devoted following, while Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub plays the lawyer Adv. B. Chinmay Bhalerao, and Raghubir Yadav plays the spiritual leader Baapji. The engine of the story is a grinding fight over evidence, witnesses and public opinion, with each episode peeling back another layer of influence and intimidation. The series is a limited run built around courtroom sequences and investigative pressure rather than case-of-the-week structure. Its atmosphere is tense, serious and emotionally raw, with performances that feel grounded and unvarnished. Its setting is contemporary India, where religious devotion and political power can shield a powerful man from scrutiny. Viewers who appreciate Delhi Crime, Sacred Games and socially engaged courtroom drama will find resonance in its blend of procedural detail and moral urgency.
